The Laurus Zen blends the wisdom of classical Italian lutherie with the most modern electro-acoustic responses, offering fluid playability and optimal ergonomic balance.
Architecture and Woods:
- Body: Khaya mahogany with internal tonal chambers and suspended soundboard for a natural projection of mids.
- Neck: 5-section neck-through construction in maple and purpleheart with proprietary Laurus truss-rod.
- Soundboard (Top): 2 mm top chosen from figured maple, olive wood, or Santos rosewood.
- Fretboard: Phenolic resin for prolonged sustain, total elimination of dead notes, and wear resistance.
Electronics and Hardware:
- Pickups: Nordstrand Zen single-blade with dual-coil design for a transparent tone and high noise rejection.
- Electronics: Active 3-band EQ with active/passive push-pull, pickup balance, and 9/18V power supply.
- Hardware: Proprietary headless Laurus bridge compatible with any type of strings.
