The Beetle Black is an extremely fun and reliable instrument in any situation, where the compactness of the body does not sacrifice harmonic richness or projection volume.
Architecture and Woods:
- Soundboard, Back and Sides: Mahogany for a warm tone, focused on mid-frequencies.
- Neck: Single-piece mahogany with heel and headstock overlay in zebrano, for unique stability and aesthetics.
- Fretboard and Bridge: Ebony with medium-jumbo frets laid using a special anti-swelling technique.
Details and Hardware:
- Bracing: X-bracing with scalloped and lightened red spruce bracing to maximize responsiveness.
- Nut: Bone nut (44 mm width) worked with calibrated slots to align the strings.
- Tuners: Hipshot for high tuning stability.
- Finish: Satin black acrylic with reduced thickness and high resistance.
