The trajectory of Magrabò was born from the synergistic meeting between the design and photographic art of Oddo Boni and the managerial and artisanal vision of his daughter Francesca, who took the helm of the brand and structured it within their workshop and Style Lab in Fano, Italy. Production develops around a core concept: a musician who meticulously selects their “tools of the trade” with care and passion should not settle for just any strap!

The choice of the accessory that “resolves the contact between the body and the instrument” should not be left to chance.

Embracing the 100% Made in Italy philosophy, Magrabò performs every step of the supply chain internally: cutting, color matching, stitching, heat branding, and packaging. The design, intentionally minimal, is meant to last over time, escaping passing trends and allowing the quality of the raw materials and executive ergonomics to gratify the musician during live performances and long studio recording sessions.

Construction philosophy, techniques, and materials

Magrabò’s functional superiority lies in the radical and sustainable choice of raw materials, treated according to historical protocols that enhance the mechanical properties of animal collagen:

• Certified Vegetable Tanning in Tuscany: Magrabò uses exclusively leather certified by the Consorzio Vera Pelle Conciata al Vegetale in Toscana (Genuine Italian Vegetable-Tanned Leather Consortium), where a small core of tanneries keeps a tradition dating back to the 1500s intact. The process occurs slowly inside wooden barrels and relies on the use of natural tannins extracted from trees, excluding the use of chemical substances harmful to the environment and the musician’s skin. This method ensures the total biodegradability of the product at the end of its life cycle.
• Leather Properties: Vegetable-tanned leather possesses a distinct “thermoforming” nature. Reacting to body heat and the constant pressure generated by the weight of the instrument, the strap progressively molds to the exact anatomy of the musician’s shoulder. This adaptation increases the effective contact surface, distributing the load uniformly. The result is a noticeable reduction in weight perceived by the musician, improving posture and reducing shoulder and back fatigue.
• The Value of Irregularity: Working with a living, natural material, the pieces extracted from the barrels present intrinsically irregular shapes, textures, and scars. Magrabò’s Style Lab interprets these characteristics not as defects, but as certificates of biological authenticity, cutting and pairing the various pieces to highlight the unique aesthetic of every single strap.
