Primo Hollow Body Guitar

Nisio Guitars was born from the vision of Mattia Rebuffo, a craftsman and lutherie enthusiast raised among wood and music. Immersed from a young age in his family’s woodworking workshop, Mattia developed a unique approach to manual work and instrument building, combining years of experience in the wood sector with an insatiable curiosity for lutherie. After over a decade of repairs, setups, and custom instruments made for friends and musicians, in 2023 he decided to give official identity to his path by founding Nisio Guitars.
Every Nisio guitar is entirely handmade in the workshop in Castelnuovo di Ceva, with no computerized phases, paying particular attention to the choice of materials: mahogany, maple, chestnut, and pine, paired with bone for natural details and aluminum for metal parts. Many instruments are also made from recycled mahogany coming from 40/50 year-old artifacts, giving new life to woods rich in history.
The beating heart of Nisio Guitars is the Nisio Primo, a model conceived as a blank canvas for total customization in perfect custom shop style. It embodies the philosophy of Mattia Rebuffo: combining pure craftsmanship, made of hands and wood, with the modern guitarist’s need for a tailor-made instrument.
Available in Solid Body or Semi Hollow versions, the Nisio Primo is built entirely in mahogany – a wood that guarantees depth and warmth – with the possibility of variants upon request. Every detail is designed to maximize resonance and playability: from the reinforced headstock, ensuring structural stability, to the adjustable truss rod accessible directly from the end of the fretboard, allowing quick adjustments without special tools.
The nitrocellulose finish, applied by hand, gives each piece a unique character and authentic feel, with options to choose classic colors, personalized finishes, and even relic effects of varying intensity to evoke the charm of aging.
Sonically, the Nisio Primo is a versatile platform: high-end hardware and the ability to choose pickups and control configurations make it suitable for any style, from warm blues to energetic rock. Each instrument is personally set up and intonated by Mattia, who guides the musician in selecting every component to create an instrument that is not just a guitar but an extension of their musical identity.
The Nisio Primo is not a mass-produced model: it is a meeting between luthier and musician, a creative process that transforms an idea into a living instrument, ready to write stories. It is no coincidence that it has already been recognized and appreciated by nationally renowned artists such as Mattia Tedesco and Amedeo Nan, who have praised its construction quality and unique sonic soul.
Every Nisio guitar is the result of a completely handcrafted process. No phase is automated: every shaping, joint, and finishing is entrusted to Mattia’s hands. The wood choice is meticulous, with a careful eye on sustainable sourcing and the recovery of historic materials.
The nitrocellulose finish is one of the brand’s distinctive features: a complex and delicate process that gives the instruments a lively tone and a thin finish that lets the wood breathe. Each guitar can be customized with relic effects of varying intensity to confer a vintage look and feel.
The use of high-quality components, from Gotoh 510 tuners to selected electronics, guarantees professional reliability and playability. The artisanal care does not sacrifice precision: every instrument is measured and set with millimetric attention.
Despite the brand’s young age, Nisio Guitars has already collaborated with notable artists such as Mattia Tedesco and Amedeo Nan, as well as providing custom instruments for projects like Studio Murena. These collaborations have helped strengthen Nisio’s reputation as an emerging reference in Italian electric lutherie.
It is possible to visit the Nisio Guitars workshop in Ceva, in the province of Cuneo. A unique opportunity to touch the woods, discover the secrets of handcrafted construction, and design your own personalized instrument together.
Every visit is an immersive experience into the world of lutherie: you come into contact with the passion, craftsmanship, and care that bring every Nisio guitar to life.
