Dophix

The Sound Team of Andrea Pratesi, Stefano Carlesi, and Federica Tantulli

Dophix - Federica, Stefano, Andrea

The story of Dophix began in 2015 in Florence from the meeting of Andrea Pratesi, Stefano Carlesi, and Federica Tantulli. United by a common passion for music and high-quality craftsmanship, they created a brand that has conquered international markets, especially the United States, thanks to a unique combination of engineering, design, and sound research.

Dophix produces fully handmade guitar and bass effects, where each pedal is a work of art combining technical precision and musical soul. Each model bears a name linked to the Florentine Renaissance – David, Michelangelo, Neptune, Perseus, Leonardo – and represents a true sonic and visual identity, a bridge between Tuscan history and contemporary music.

The Collection

Dophix 1
The Dophix collection is a sonic and visual narrative that spans through time. Each pedal is part of a “trilogy,” with its own personality and story to tell.

The David embodies strength and courage, offering distortions ranging from delicate crunch to the most intense high-gain.
The Michelangelo is a tribute to ingenuity and creativity, capable of combining valve dynamics with sound precision in a compact format.
The Neptune is a powerful and imposing fuzz, a sonic storm evoking the depths of the sea.
The Perseus is a sharp and elegant boost, essential but extremely incisive, like the sword stroke it represents.
The Leonardo is the compressor that seeks the perfect balance between dynamics and sustain, just like the Vitruvian Man who inspires its harmony.

Each effect is designed and hand-assembled, individually tested, and equipped with a unique serial code certifying its authenticity and tracing every phase of creation.

Construction Philosophy, Techniques, and Materials

Dophix construction philosophy

At the core of every Dophix pedal is a maniacal search for sound. The goal is to recreate those warm and enveloping ’70s tones, enriched by modern and reliable construction.

All pedals are handwired point-to-point, with carefully selected and manually tested components. Every choice – from JFET transistors to carbon resistors – is designed to guarantee consistency, quality, and absolute reliability over time.

The design is not only aesthetic but an integral part of the project: each pedal combines mechanical robustness with visual care inspired by Florentine Renaissance artworks. Every effect is not just a technical device, but a true musical instrument capable of evoking emotions and telling a story.

Collaborations and Recognitions

Dophix Collaborations

Dophix has been chosen by Italian and international artists such as Giuseppe Scarpato, Artur Menezes, Ron Artis II, Saturnino, Piero Pelù, as well as bands and musicians featured on X-Factor.

In 2019, the Michelangelo Overdrive Plus was awarded among the six best pedals at the Summer NAMM in Nashville, marking an important international recognition for Tuscan craftsmanship.

Authentic Experience

It is possible to visit the Dophix workshop in Capraia e Limite, near Florence.
Every visit is a journey through history, craftsmanship, and sound: you can see pedals take shape, touch materials, listen to tonal differences, and understand the work behind each effect.

An immersive experience that combines a passion for music with Tuscan artisanal tradition, where every pedal is a small work of art ready to tell its story on stage.
