The story of Black Kat Devices is born from the passion of Francesco Cremonese for electronics and music. After years of technical studies and experience in an audio electronics company, Francesco combined his two passions by creating an artisanal workshop specialized in producing electric guitar pedals with a unique and innovative character.

Every Black Kat Devices pedal is designed and built internally, from the electronic board to the 3D printed PLA case. This choice not only reflects an ecological philosophy (reducing the use of plastic and metals), but also allows for lightweight, robust, and fully customizable devices. Each pedal is a small piece of sonic engineering, made for musicians who want to stand out with an original and sustainable sound.

The Black Kat Devices range includes pedals with compact and lightweight designs, crafted to cover a wide sonic palette:

  • Double W: dual fuzz+overdrive pedal for vintage tones and modern distortions in a single format.
  • TSC: tone shaper, sustainer, and compressor with analog technology for a “studio” sound on your pedalboard.
  • Fox Drive: crystalline overdrive with JFET circuit and built-in boost for dynamics similar to a valve head.
  • Wolf Fuzz: aggressive fuzz with four amplification stages for sustain and rich harmonics.
  • Queen Wasp Drive: compact dual overdrive, evolution of the Wasp Drive with internal customization options.
  • Wasp Drive: versatile as a main drive, secondary or booster, with a characteristic mid-high tone.
  • Mongoose Fuzz: flexible fuzz with several clipping options for ’70s sounds and modern distortions.
  • FuzzDaFogg: collaboration with Mò Pedali and Danilo Gallo, warm and versatile fuzz also usable on bass.
  • Lion Distorsion: powerful and sculptable distortion, designed for rock and metal.

Each model is available with customizable configurations and finishes, always maintaining the artisanal approach and attention to detail.

Construction Philosophy, Techniques, and Materials

Black Kat Devices’ philosophy is based on three principles: innovation, sustainability, and customization.
The choice of PLA as the main material arises both from ecological and practical needs, allowing for lighter pedals (the heaviest weighs only 180g) that are durable. 3D printing enables unique and functional designs, while the in-house circuit design ensures total control over the sound.

Every pedal is hand-assembled, individually tested, and delivered with options for personalized configurations. The limited production (10-50 units per year) guarantees artisanal care and uniqueness of each device.

Although the workshop is not open to the public, Black Kat Devices offers personalized consultation and the possibility to create custom pedals for specific needs. Every order is accompanied by test photos and videos before shipping to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.
