Atom Amplifiers
The Amplifiers of Atom Amplifiers
Atom Amplifiers is the artisanal workshop of Marko Ota, an electronic technician and musician who has been designing and building high-quality tube amplifiers for over 20 years. Each amplifier is born to be a musical instrument in its own right, built to last and respond with sensitivity and precision to the expressive needs of the guitarist.
Marko, raised among soldering irons and guitar strings, has a background as a visionary self-taught: at 12 he was already building radios and electronic metronomes, at 17 he played his first electric guitar, and at 20 he began modifying a Marshall JCM800. After experiences in electronics and telecommunications, the defining spark came from a Robben Ford live show: from there started the mission to create amplifiers inspired by the legendary Dumble sound, but with a distinctly Italian soul.
The Collection
We build tube guitar amplifiers, entirely hand-assembled, in customizable configurations. Limited production of 10-50 pieces per year, each unit is a unique project. Available are heads and combos, with original circuits inspired by American classics but reinterpreted with contemporary taste.
Construction Philosophy, Techniques, and Materials
Each Atom amplifier is built with a laminated spruce cabinet with dovetail joints and an aluminum chassis. The circuits are point-to-point, uncompromising: designed to be robust, easily repairable even after fifty years, and capable of guaranteeing absolute reliability. Components are carefully selected, favoring Made in Italy where possible. Transformers are custom, designed to specifications of performance and dynamic response. Each amplifier can be personalized according to the tonal and functional preferences of the guitarist.
Collaborations and Recognitions
Atom amplifiers have been included among the “Top 10+1 releases of 2024 for guitarists” according to Planet Guitar. We regularly collaborate with musicians, sound engineers, and industry experts who contribute to the continuous development of our models.
Direct Experience
It is possible to visit the workshop in San Dorligo della Valle (TS) to get close to our construction processes, listen to the amplifiers live, and discuss the perfect setup for your sound.
