The Guitars and Basses of Artelab Guitars Artelab Guitars is a modern luthiery workshop founded by Antonino Dell’Arte, a craftsman with over 25 years of experience. Every guitar created is a unique piece, designed and built like a tailored suit to meet the technical and expressive needs of each musician. From wood selection to finishing, every detail is crafted to serve the sound and soul of the instrument.
Antonino Dell’Arte was born in Sicily and moved to Veneto in 1999, the year he built his first guitar from scratch. A modeler and CAD designer by profession, and a guitarist by passion, he combines technical skill and artisanal sensitivity to create personalized and vibrant instruments. He works in his workshop in Montecchio Maggiore (VI), dedicating himself entirely to the creation and care of electric musical instruments.
The Collections
Custom electric guitars, divided into two main lines:
ICONIC Series: STAR and T-Ely models, inspired by the classic Strat and Tele designs, redesigned from scratch and configurable in every detail. MODERN Series: JOVY and MICK (headless) models, with original Artelab design, fully made in Italy with Italian hardware and pickups.
There is also a Bass series designed to capture the attention of the most demanding bassists.
Each model is available in highly customizable configurations.
Construction Philosophy, Techniques, and Materials
Like a tailor crafting a custom suit, Artelab builds the instrument around the musician. Every parameter is configurable: wood selection, fingerboard, radius, electronics, pickups, hardware, neck shape, finish. The result is a unique, resonant, ergonomic, and highly expressive instrument.
Techniques include CNC pre-processing based on CAD designs and entirely hand finishing. Finishes are matte polyurethane or oil and beeswax. The most used woods include ash, mahogany, maple, walnut, rosewood, and cherry, all sourced from Italy. Custom work includes structural lightening, roasted fingerboards, and stainless steel frets.
Collaborations
Artelab instruments have been chosen by musicians such as Riccardo Bertuzzi and Andrea Rigonat.
