Dual-Stage Architecture: The distinctive feature of the Surreal Compressor is the presence of two distinct compressors within the same pedal, based on different technologies to replicate the combined use of multiple units typical of Gilmour’s setup.

Section 1 – Optical Compressor: Inspired by the legendary circuitry of 1960s and 1970s studio compressors. It offers a linear, transparent, and “Hi-Fi” response, ideal for leveling the signal with extreme naturalness without excessively coloring the tone.

Section 2 – FET-based Compressor: A warmer and typically guitar-like stage. Luca Colombo has blended the best features of iconic pedals like the Dyna Comp, the Orange Squeezer, and the CS-2, obtaining a harmonic saturation and attack that perfectly complement the transparency of the first stage.

Versatility of Connection: Designed to perform at its best not only in front of an amplifier, but also connected directly into the console (D.I.), exactly replicating the recording technique used on Pink Floyd records to obtain defined attacks and heavily processed dynamics.
