The Quasar Extraharmonic is designed specifically for fretless bassists who demand extreme organic response. The internal resonance chambers cooperate to amplify the natural voice of the instrument, eliminating the need for invasive equalization.
Architecture and Woods:
- Body: Khaya mahogany with multiple tonal chambers and up to three suspended soundboards for maximum resonance.
- Neck: 5-section neck-through construction in maple and purpleheart for ideal vibration transmission and infinite sustain.
- Soundboard (Top): 2 mm top in Santos rosewood, poplar burl, or air-seasoned flamed maple.
- Fretboard: High-hardness phenolic resin, in fretless or fretless-lined version, for ideal smoothness.
Electronics and Hardware:
- Pickups: Set Nordstrand (Humbucker, Fat Stack, or Zen) to capture the dynamic touch.
- Electronics: 3-band passive EQ (±15dB) with balance control and 9/18V power supply.
- Hardware: Headless Laurus bridge with brass saddles to optimize transmission.
- Headstock: Slotted headstock tilted backward to maintain correct mechanical tension.
