Stef Project
The sound of a cable by Stefano Falanga
The story of Stef Project begins with the vision and experience of Stefano Falanga, musician and electronics technician with over a decade of work in the professional audio sector. Since adolescence, when he first picked up a guitar, Stefano has woven his life between music, concerts, and recording studios, developing a keen ear and unique sensitivity for sound quality. At the same time, his technical career at a leading Hi-Fi company gave him deep knowledge of audio devices, from speakers and amplifiers to the most sophisticated playback systems.
From this dual identity – musician and technician – comes Stef Project: a line of handcrafted jack and XLR cables designed for musicians, studios, and professionals who want pure, reliable, and uncompromising sound. Each cable is entirely handmade, combining the science of electronics with artisanal craftsmanship, with a Made in Italy approach that puts quality and durability first.
The Collection
The Stef Project collection includes jack and XLR cables for musical instruments, designed to offer absolute sonic transparency and durability for professional use. Each model is born from a rigorous selection of the highest quality materials: OFC copper (also tinned or silver-plated), shielding braids, low-loss insulators, and robust connectors.
The construction approach is based on some key elements:
- Meticulous material selection: high-purity conductors, multiple shieldings, and quality insulators to preserve dynamics and harmonics.
- Soldering with silver tin: hand-done with precision to guarantee maximum conductivity and mechanical strength.
- Optimized cable geometries: winding and shielding to minimize noise and interference, keeping the signal intact.
- Artisanal assembly and testing: each cable is individually checked and subjected to electrical and audio performance tests before delivery.
The result is a range of cables that become a real “strong link” in the signal chain, perfect for both live environments and recording studios.
Construction Philosophy, Techniques, and Materials
The philosophy of Stef Project can be summed up in three words: reliability, transparency, and durability. Every cable is designed to transmit the signal exactly as it is, without adding or subtracting anything from the original sound of the instrument.
Stefano’s experience as a musician is also reflected in the ergonomics: cables that are manageable, flexible, abrasion-resistant, and designed for intensive use on stage and in the studio. Every solder joint is handmade and visually inspected to ensure robustness and integrity. The finishes, from protective sheaths to connections, are carefully crafted to ensure a reliable and long-lasting product.
