Shiver Guitar

Shiver GuitarsThe Guitars of ShiverGuitar
ShiverGuitar is the artisanal workshop of Cristiano Toni, a self-taught guitarist and luthier who for over 10 years has been building stringed instruments with a unique and personal philosophy. Each guitar is born from a creative process where the wood guides the hand, suggests the sound, and inspires the shape. In an era of standardization, Cristiano offers instruments that are the opposite: unrepeatable, vital, and deeply musical.

The workshop is located in Foligno (PG), nestled in a quiet, natural environment where time slows down and leaves room for artisanal concentration. Here every guitar comes to life without haste, worked mainly by hand, with minimal use of power tools and maximum respect for the material and the instrument’s sonic identity.

The Collection
We produce handcrafted string instruments, made in unique, unrepeatable specimens. Annual production is deliberately limited (0–10 instruments per year) to guarantee the utmost care at every stage. Shiver guitars do not follow an industrial standard: each piece is an autonomous sonic and material narrative, born from listening to the wood and the musician’s needs.

Construction Philosophy, Techniques, and Materials
Construction follows a personal and unconventional method, developed independently over time. Each wood is chosen for its voice, not its name: spruce, mahogany, or rosewood become protagonists only if they resonate in the right way. Materials are natural: oils, waxes, traditional glues, delicate finishes that enhance the vibration and breath of the wood.

In the ShiverGuitar workshop, luthiery is not reproduction, but research. The result is intense, personal instruments built to be played for a long time and deeply lived.

Collaborations and Recognitions
ShiverGuitar has been featured in several articles in Guitar Club and in video interviews on social media and YouTube channels, where Cristiano’s philosophy impressed for its authenticity and originality. Although not tied to endorsements or commercial collaborations, it enjoys growing esteem within the community of conscious musicians and artisans.

Direct Experience
It is possible to visit the workshop in Foligno, meet Cristiano, listen to and try the instruments. Every meeting is an opportunity for human and sonic exchange and can be the first step toward creating a custom instrument.
