The story of ShiverGuitar is that of Cristiano Toni, a self-taught guitarist and luthier who has pursued a unique vision of handcrafted electric guitars for ten years. Located in Foligno, Umbria, Cristiano creates instruments that are not just musical objects but true works of art, the result of meticulous work and a deeply personal approach to luthiery.

Every guitar is born from research that combines innovative design and selected materials. For Cristiano, every wood has a sound and a story, and the luthier’s task is to free its voice, creating instruments that inspire those who play them and make every note unforgettable.

The Collection

ShiverGuitar creations include unique and unrepeatable handmade electric guitars, all crafted using luthier woods and natural materials such as waxes and oils, for a lively and organic finish.

Among the most representative models are:

  • F Guitar: with a pickup positioned under the wood, it captures the true “voice” of the instrument and demonstrates how wood influences the sound of electric guitars.
  • K Guitar: characterized by sides made of reinforced Japanese rice paper and DeArmond pickups, it recalls the warm tone of 1940s jazz guitars with its own personality.
  • Aura, Astra, Sky, and Dream Maker series: each with fine woods, oil finish, and exclusive pickup configurations by Celentano and PKV, expressing different aesthetics and tonalities.
  • Vintage Series: nitro-painted guitars and oiled instruments where each wood produces an unrepeatable tone.
  • Antecaster: a personal tribute to historic Telecasters and Stratocasters, available only on request.

Each guitar is unique and non-replicable: ShiverGuitar does not work on commission but follows an artistic vision that makes every instrument a one-of-a-kind piece.

Shiver Guitar Construction Philosophy

Every creation by ShiverGuitar is handmade with a personal method developed by Cristiano Toni over years of experimentation. The woods used are selected for their tonal characteristics and worked to maintain their sonic vitality.

The oil and wax finishes enhance the natural resonance and provide a protective layer that lets the instrument breathe. Pickup configurations, from suspended DeArmonds to custom AlNiCo, are designed to offer a wide and original tonal range.

The construction choices do not follow industrial standards but the instinct and ear of the luthier: for ShiverGuitar, each guitar is its own sonic story.
